Jen W. asked: Florida is a vacationer’s paradise with its ample sunshine, miles of beaches, and abundance of attractions that can satisfy the appetite of every age group. Relaxation awaits when you step onto your private deck or balcony and listen to the sound of the waves crashing ashore and slowly forget all the stress you have left behind.
Views of the water are one thing, but having the soft sand directly behind your accommodations is more convenient than you ever imagined. All you need to do is step out the back door and therein lies the sand, waiting for you to sun on its soft body and build sandcastles near the shore. You can make as many trips as you need back into the house, meaning you no longer need to pack for an entire day and you won’t miss out on any of the fun since your supplies are a shore stroll away.
As the most popular destination in Florida, you can find numerous home and condo rentals in the Orlando/Disney area. Enjoy the best in family accommodations in a spacious home filled to the brim with amenities such as a private pool and plenty of beach towels while staying only minutes from the Disney World theme parks. You can come home and relax under the dwindling Florida sun after a long day of enjoying rides and attractions while the kids burn off the last of their energy by swimming and jumping in and out of the pool.
If you are looking for a private retreat where you can escape to surroundings unlike any other, the Florida Keys have you covered. Enjoy a Key Largo vacation rental that is covered with towering trees and radiant flowers as you listen to the sweet song of the birds overhead and soak in the sweet smell of the nearby flora. This is a secret tropical haven for anyone who wants to get back to nature without missing out on any of the Keys fun since a private dock sits in the backyard, begging you to come forward and experience some of the best onshore fishing available.
For those visiting a Florida destination such as Miami Beach for the cultural allure, you can choose to stay slightly off the beaten path by opting for a rental that is not in the touristy parts but rather integrates you into the lively, cultural atmosphere. With rentals available in a variety of neighborhoods, you are sure to find one that makes it easy to enjoy the sights and sounds you are drawn to. Ray La Foy asked: Whether you’re looking for a quiet getaway for a couple or a cheaper way for an entire family to stay, a Florida vacation rental might just be the best way to go. There are great Florida rentals from coast to coast and everywhere in between. No matter the requirements of an individual renter, there is likely to be a one in Florida to fit the bill.
If you’re in the market for a Florida vacation rental, the first thing to do is to determine what exactly you need or want to create the perfect vacation. Rentals here range from private residences to time shares. A Florida rental can be an elaborate, upscale beach estate or it can be a small cottage in the woods. The choice is up to you, but since they tend to vary so much, going in with an idea of what’s wanted is smart.
Here’s how to find the best Florida vacation rental to fit your needs:
Determine the area that’s needed. Rentals can literally be found all over the state. If you want to find the best to meet your needs, it’s wise to decide where you’d like to stay first. Every part of Florida offers its own unique draw, so you really can’t go wrong. From the beaches of Destin to the amusement parks of Orlando, location means a lot. Budget. It’s a very good idea to set in advance how much you’re willing to pay for a rental. Since the breadth of options is so great, a price range will better help you find what fits your needs. Plus, you’ll save yourself the trouble of looking at Florida rentals that are out of reach or beneath your personal preferences. Size. Florida vacation rentals can range from one-room efficiencies to entire estates available for weekly, monthly or even yearly rental. Determine the size place you’d like to use during your Florida vacation and you’ll have an easier time finding the ideal rental. Special features. If you need to have an eat-in kitchen or you’d prefer a place that has its own pool, beachfront view or so on, that needs to be decided in advance. The Internet and area real estate agents are loaded with options, but since the choices are so many, the special features can really narrow down the hunt.
Making the choice to go with a Florida vacation rental over a regular hotel room can be a good one for a number of reasons. Depending on the location and the type of rental you’re looking at, you might even find a vacation rental helps you save money on your trip. Serving as a great home base for day trips and just relaxing, a rental can offer vacationers more freedom than a regular hotel. With all the amenities of home, a rental can make couples and families feel more comfortable during their stay, too.
Shop around and make some decisions in advance to help find the perfect Florida vacation rental. With a little time and dedication to the search, the ideal place can be found.

Caitlin Moore asked: Travelers hungry for a change of pace but who prefer to stay within the United States will find Florida to be a natural choice. With 1,100 miles of coastline and a peninsula filled to the brim with theme parks, natural wonders, and night life, the sunshine state is a treasure trove of vacation delights.
Beginning with the obvious, the beaches in Florida are a major attraction. They range from remote and isolated to popular and packed with sun-seekers, and many offer diversions such as surfing, shelling, and celebrity-seeking. Rugged stretches of sand are great for exploring and picking up sand dollars, while more manicured areas offer the best sun tanning around. No matter which area of the state you plan to visit, there will certainly be a place to kick of your shoes and wade into the nearby surf.
While you’re near the water, be sure to save some time to squeeze in some fishing. Florida boasts that it has the best fishing in the world, so pack up the tackle box and see if the title is deserved. Or, if you prefer to observe rather than catch, put on your diving or snorkeling gear and head to the nearest reef.
In the interest of the kids, and the kids we used to be, nowhere else compares to Florida when it comes to the number and diversity of available theme parks. Disney, which includes the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney MGM Studios, and Animal Kingdom, certainly deserves some time. And don’t forget about Sea World, Universal Studios, the Kennedy Space Center, or any of the numerous water parks that dot the land.
Golfers will find themselves in a veritable heaven, as courses seem to occur naturally and every day of the year is fit for enjoying 18 holes. There are over 1,000 golf courses in Florida, many of which are designed by the biggest names in the sport. In other words, don’t forget to pack your clubs.
If you come alive after the sun sets, you’ll find plenty of exciting prospects in places like Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Key West. Seafood restaurants, dance clubs, and a variety of shows make the nights in Florida fly by. Before you know it, dawn will be breaking as you return to your room with a head filled with music and memories of a state that truly knows how to have a good time.
If you want to ensure that you’ll have a comfortable stay during your sunny adventure, be aware that Florida is filled with vacation rentals of all shapes and sizes. Many of these properties contain all the amenities of home and make it easier to avoid the pitfalls of long lines and cramped quarters sometimes associated with vacationing. So whether you aim to be near a beautiful beach or the fantasy lands of Orlando, the perfect vacation rental is waiting for you.
After you have decided what is important to you when it comes to choosing a place to stay, be it location, special features, or size, visit HomeAway.com for the widest selection of Florida Vacation Rentals.

Owen Walcher asked: If you’re seriously interested in knowing about Amelia Island, you need to think beyond the basics. This informative article takes a closer look at things you need to know about Amelia Island.
You can escape the every day stresses and strains by experiencing luxury hotels, resorts and bed and breakfasts. Amelia Island is also a popular place for weddings and honeymoons.
Activities range from fishing trips to scenic tours of the island from one of the 18 charter boats. While fishing you will be able to experience many different kinds of wildlife like, dolphins, whales, sea turtles and manatees.
Outdoor activities include golf, tennis, bicycling, horseback riding, volleyball and nature tours. Nightlife here on Amelia Island is quite unique. You will be able to enjoy and nice quiet time on the beach with jazz or acoustical music. There are even sunset cruises for a nice night on the town.
A surprise many people miss is Amelia’s historic district which encompasses a fifty block area in Fernandina Beach. Here you will find many restored homes and buildings from the turn of the century.
Amelia is a small island of about 18.2 square miles and has three distinct sections. First is the north end which is called Fernandina Beach. Then you have the middle section which is called Amelia Island and then the third section which is mostly Amelia Island Plantation.
The island itself was developed in a southerly direction which you can see. The more you go south the newer things are. In the heart of Fernandina Beach is Centre Street where you’ll find the Palace Saloon which is the oldest saloon in Florida. You’ll also find a collection of art galleries, T-Shirt stores, ice cream shops and real estate offices.
A great idea for a change is to take Amelia Island’s carriage ride through the downtown area. This 30-minute tour by horse drawn carriage goes through local neighborhoods where your guides will point out haunted houses and pirates of times long ago.
Next you might well decide to try your hand at fly fishing. Well known fly fishing expert of Amelia Island, Captain Russell Tharin, began fly fishing when he was just a boy. Today he runs his own charter service, Fly Fishing Amelia Island. Look him up and try it out. You’ll have tons of fun and memorable experiences.
As you drive around Amelia Island you will not be able to help but notice the huge ancient trees that line the way. It looks as though the road in this area of the country was moved to accommodate the gorgeous trees.
Amelia Island Williams House is a huge Bed and Breakfast now a days that sits on a five thousand square foot lot on Ash and 9th street with it’s 19th century fence guarding it’s entry way. A wealthy Boston Banker built this Victorian mansion in 1856. A sight worth seeing and staying at.
As your knowledge about Amelia Island continues to grow, you will begin to see how Amelia Island fits into the overall scheme of things. Knowing how something relates to the rest of the world is important too.

The excitement of a Disney World vacation can be overwhelming with the kids directing you in every direction to explore new attractions with Donald, Mickey and Cinderella. Even though you are on vacation, you still want to enjoy some physical activity by running on the treadmill or playing a great game of tennis or golf. This is all easy to do by accessing the resorts gym, game room, volleyball, tennis courts and large pool. Mo Wala asked: A favorite destination for many people is Orlando, Florida. With its many theme parks, it has become ‘the’ place to visit. Not only for the young, Orlando has a variety of attractions from the youngest member of the family to the oldest! There are enough shops, markets, museums, art galleries and much more in Orlando to keep even the most ‘difficult to please’ person engaged. Whilst a vacation here has been popular for many years now, the reason to visit continues to grow as the number of facilities and attractions increases.
As one of the most tourists centered cities in the world, Orlando a great deal to offer including large shopping malls, restaurants, night clubs, bars and many specialist shops.
Apart from the magical Disney themed attractions, there are also other places of interest too. Central Florida Zoo in Sanford has been recognized for its value to education and the preservation of species. The Central Florida Zoological Park and Botanical Gardens is dedicated to preserving the beauty and wonder of animals including their habitats.
Back in 1942, the Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park started exhibiting the world’s most extensive collection of the works of Louis Comfort Tiffany. Tiffany glass, clayware and ornaments are all on display here including a specially designed chapel interior shown at the Columbian Exposition back in 1893.
Orlando is certainly a city for all age groups and not solely designed for the amusement of children as family and adult attractions are in equal numbers. For adults, there are a number of places of interest; nightclubs, bars, and restaurants.
Another great place to visit about twenty minutes drive from Orlando Airport is The Orlando Science Center, which originates back to 1955. It is a huge building, with over 200,000 square feet of exhibition space spanning ten halls. If your preference is in railways then the International Trolley and Train Museum on International drive will be a pleasant surprise with 14 trains running continuously and three waterfalls in a space of about 4,000 square feet.
We all remember the famous story of the movie Titanic, well on International Drive; you can find The Titanic – Ship of Dreams Exhibition. This is a touching, often eerie representation of the great Ocean Liner with a tour guide depicting a character from the ship with many original items on display. It will take you to another era, this haunting and true story that will tug your heart strings.
Away from all the hustle of Orlando, is the wonderful Lake Eola Park in the heart of downtown. If you are looking for some serenity, and would like to soak up the Florida sunshine, this is an ideal relaxation spot. It has beautiful sidewalks in over forty acres where it is possible to spend a few peaceful hours.
However, there aren’t that many visitors who visit Orlando without a trip to one of the four main Disney theme parks or the equally impressive Universal Studios, where there are no age restrictions. If you have never vacationed in Orlando before, you must try it at least once in your life. Although every season tends to be busy, a very special time to visit is during the Christmas holidays. The magic of Disney is magnified even more so during the holiday season, after all who wouldn’t want to spend Christmas with Mickey and Minnie Mouse?

Jen W. asked: When beginning your search for the ideal place to spend a weeklong vacation, consider the veritable wonderland of attractions and amusements that populate the state of Florida. With its warm weather and 1,100 miles of coastline, Florida is perfect for a fishing adventure, a relaxing week on the beach, or an action-packed family vacation. Make your way to Florida for your next trip and experience all the fun and excitement the Sunshine State has to offer.
On Florida’s Panhandle, visitors will find cities such as Destin and Panama City that are a part of one of the most beautiful stretches of waterfront land found anywhere in the country. Perched along the Emerald Coast, the beaches here have sugar white sands that will roll over your feet as you stroll along the shore, soaking in the sight of emerald-green water. With such high-quality water at your disposal, you may find it difficult to pull yourself away from the numerous offshore activities that can easily fill the duration of trip, including snorkeling, scuba diving, canoeing, and kayaking.
If you are leaning towards an adventure on the Florida Gulf Coast, consider the Tampa Bay area for an always exciting excursion filled to the brim with diverse amusements. Although the beaches along Clearwater and St. Petersburg are an obvious way to fill your day, these areas are also teeming with natural beauty that is just begging to be explored. Here you will find underdeveloped barrier islands, nature parks, and botanical gardens so you can see a side of Florida that exists beyond the beaches all while getting a little exercise in, too.
As one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world, the Orlando/Disney area is a must-see for anyone with young children or anyone who cannot ignore the inner child inside of us all. With Walt Disney World’s four parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney MGM Studios, and Animal Kingdom, located here, you could spend the duration of your trip navigating these distinct and highly-entertaining attractions. However, before you leave the Orlando area with your family, be sure to check out the other great amusements outside of Disney World, including SeaWorld, Universal Studios, and the water parks of Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.
For those who prefer the Atlantic side of Florida, West Palm Beach is ideal for kicking back and enjoying amazingly scenic golf courses. The PGA National Golf Club has five championship courses that will challenge even the most experienced and well-rounded golfers with their astounding length and difficult hazards. With designs by Arnold Palmer and Tom Fazio, you can expect the gorgeous Florida landscape to be framed by stunning water hazards and lush green fairways.
When searching for a multitude of cultural attractions and a lively nightlife, Miami is the place to head for entertainment that certainly will not be forgotten. With a Hispanic background prevalent in the area, you can sample some of the diverse Spanish offerings at the Latin American Art Museum and Little Havana. And at night, you can find a wide selection of night clubs, ranging from blues to jazz to even rumba rap, that will meet your needs and leave you dancing in the streets as you make your way home.
The Florida Keys are the perfect getaway no matter what kind of attractions you are searching for. The Upper Keys are known for their excellent diving since the continent’s only living barrier reef is easily accessed from the east side and with Key Largo located here, you can find the typical tourist recreation to keep you occupied for the duration of your trip. Popular in the Upper Keys and Middle Keys, sportfishing is an excellent way to get out onto the water and try for a variety of fish such as tarpon, tuna, and sailfish. While the Lower Keys are known for being the quieter area of the Keys, you can easily head to the lower tip and experience the spontaneous parties and excitement of Key West.
No matter which part of Florida you decide to visit, your adventure can be filled with whatever kind of recreation interests and relaxes you. For the perfect cap on a promising trip, choose accommodations that make it easy to enjoy your Florida destination with all the gusto you can possibly imagine. Florida vacation rentals are located in the all the areas that matter most to you, so experience the convenience and comfort of home by staying in a home or condo rental that makes it easy to enjoy the beauty and attractions of this amazing state.
